Does a new certificate of incorporation get issued for any changes to the articles or is it just a name change?
No new certificate is issued in most circumstances but the registrar must be informed of any changes to the articles within 15 days of change being passed. An example of a circumstance in which a new certificate would be issued would be conversion of a private company to a public company.Other similar changes to articles involving change in company’s status would also on successful completion of reregistration result in the issue of an altered certificate of incorporation being issued.
ie it’s just for a name change!
