In the practice questions at the end of ‘Contract Law’, question 2 says:
which of the following is an equitable remedy?
1. damages
2. quantum meruit
3. injuction
4. action for priceThe correct answer is 4, but in the notes says that injuction is an equitable remedy. is that correct? Also can you explain ‘Quantum meruit’? as i can’t remember seeing it in the notes.
No, the answer is incorrect – the CORRECT answer is “injunction”

Quantum meruit literally means ‘for as much as it’s worth’
In a situation where we have substantial (but not complete) performance, the Court may grant an award of quantum meruit – so ordering payment for as much as the incomplete performance is worth
