I am considering registering for ACCA next year then apply for exemptions as i hold a BCom Degree in Accounting, then after that i will book to sit for my first exam in June 2012. I am not registering this year to avoid paying the annual fee twice and yet am not writing this year. Is this a good idea? Does anyone know how many exemptions i am likely to get?
September 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm #87783check the acca exemption database to see if your degree and university is listed. You can technically get upto 4 papers (F1,2,3,4) exempted with a B.Com in accounting, but usually its just 2 or 3 (from F1,2,3). You need to get transcripts from your university and post them to ACCA by snail mail – and only then will they consider your exemption request. All this can take time, so December 2011 seems unlikely anyway, or the exam fees might be at the higher slab in case you want to go for it (plus extra annual fees).
Just aim for 2012 June, and try to get done with transcripts, exemptions etc as quickly as you can! 😀
