I’m planning to take F4, F5 and F6 papers this december. But I’m working full time. 40 hours a week. Do you think it’s a good idea to give three papers at a time? And also I haven’t really started studying? Seniors, please advise π I badly want to get done with ACCA. That’s why I’ve planned to sit for three papers.
August 31, 2011 at 9:37 pm #87563I am also freshman in ACCA, but I strongly advise you to take maximum 2 papers. You have just 100 days and 40 hours a week you spent in work. You can take 3 exams if and only if you are aware of content of these paper (more or less).
Good luck!
September 1, 2011 at 1:12 pm #87564I did 2 exams in June and it took alot of time I also work 40 hours a week and study at home
in Dec i decided I will do 3 Exams BUT this is because I failed one in June and know if i put some more work into it I can pass it I think it is a good idea to do 2 first and decide how you feel you coped with them and then decide to do more or less
as my friends always say its better to pass one and fail one then fail all 3 because you did not have the time
the other reson i feel i can do all free this time is because I am aware where my mistakes was and that If i work harder at it i can do it
its the begining of sept and by the end of the week I have studied all the txt books and have 3 months to go through all 3 revision packs
if you havent started yet might be best to start with 2goodluck
September 1, 2011 at 10:54 pm #87565I did 3 P-level exams (P2, P3 and P7), while working 40+ hours a week. It just requires focus and dedication.
September 7, 2011 at 1:20 pm #87566I did F9, P1 & P7 in the June 2011 sitting and passed them all. I’m also working 40 hours per week. I started studying for them in early February 2011. I have spent 330 hours in total for the three papers.
It’s possible to pass 3 exams in one go. But it totally depends on what type of person you are. If you are confident with your concentration and dedication then go for it. Haven’t said that, I probably wouldn’t have taken 3 if it was a December sitting, because work is always busy in December. But June of Okay. If you ask my colleague he would tell you it’s totally possible to pass 3 or even 4 with full time job. If ACCA allows him he might even take 14 all together. π
Give it a try and you might be surprised of how much you can do.
September 11, 2011 at 6:43 pm #87567i also passed P2, P5 and P7 with full time job – i gave 470 hours preparation over 6 months – around 1 hour weekdays and 6 hours weekends. it was gruelling and had to sacrifice social life, family life etc.
If you can self-motivate, then go for it, else do two. a compromise approach would be prepare 2 papers really well so that they give a great shot at passing, and prepare the 3rd paper with whatever time is left and then hope for the best!
September 12, 2011 at 9:36 pm #87568People you are all lightweights.
I have a 45 hour job, plus I go gym most evenings, spend time with friends, go to events, and I did four exams every sitting, including P1,P2,P4,P5 all in one sitting and I passed them all.
Don’t let anyone tell you how many you can or cant do. Its not about how much time you have, but about how well you use the time. I only spent 30min per module every night but I maximised that time doing one topic every night. Over 100 days, thats a lot of topics.
Peace

September 13, 2011 at 7:23 pm #87570So my advice sweetum is stuff doing 3 papers, go for 4 papers. start early, as in from tonight, and just get going. I was up till 2am studying, and then getting up 5 hours later for work. but i still had a social life, and chilled out.
October 5, 2011 at 5:31 pm #87571I am also attempting my final 4 papers in December 2011 – P2, P3, P4 and P5, with a full time job.
At this point, anything you do, might seem insignificant, but it is very important that you do it. Just make up your mind once for all, keep going and success is guaranteed – 100%!
May God bless you all with success in whatever paper you are taking.. π
