This is a very easy paper, was not expecting the paper to be this easy. SOFP was a piece of cake and what can l say about the options questions. With 50% effeort most people should pass this paper. This paper is now becoming predictable

Hey can anyone exactly what came up today?
What were the optional questions?
Was meant to sit it but ended up in hospital :(:( damn tonsils….June 14, 2011 at 1:15 pm #85086It’s quite easy. But I still make mistake 🙁 . Hope that trying to do most parts of questions will help me to earn enough mark !!!
June 14, 2011 at 1:15 pm #85087Current issue was financial assets IFRS9, IAS39.
June 14, 2011 at 1:25 pm #85088Nice paper!
Q1(a) & (c) were quick wins and the CSFP was easy with adjustments being just fine!
Did Q2 and Q3 in Section B, and a vast range of standards was tested! Did lack some time in the end, but overall seems a passable paper! 🙂
Thank you OT for the video lectures! Almost heard the lecturer in my mind during the exam! 😉June 14, 2011 at 1:26 pm #85089did some one CSFP tie out ?

It was a feasible paper but the length of each paragraph in questions 2 and 3 was terrible.
And part b in Q1 I could read the text 100 times and not enen have a clue of what the examiner wanted me to answer.
I accept that exams must be long to test students performing under pressure but I think that sometimes the examiner does not gauge the length of the wholle paper.June 14, 2011 at 1:48 pm #85095hi, did anyone get the balancing figure for SOFP as 946.05… thats the amount mine balanced with..
I wasnt so comfortable with section B.. and time was a problem for me.
But thanks OT for the tip on foreign subsidiary! really helped alot!June 14, 2011 at 1:49 pm #85096AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

It was the easiest consolidation I have ever done, even all the adjustments were straightforward.
I would have put money on IFRS 9 coming up so the 1st part of that was OK. Not so sure on the calculations.
Questions 2 & 3 were both bitches, I went for 3 and probably got about 10 marks but reckon my Q1 earned me at least 32 so should be fine.
