AS dear members , I am having some confusion in understanding the exact link ( if there is any ) between the market segmentation and Porter’s generic strategies , when we already have the option to go for cost leadership / differentiation / focus , then why do we again carry out the market segmentation and consider the appropriate
segment we should target ? Please do reply . ..

1.Strategic Analysis
2.Strategic Choice
on what basis do we decide to compete—-porter’s generic strategies
Which direction should we choose?—-Ansoff’s Matrix
How we achieve the choosen direction–Internal Deveopment,Acquisition, JV
3. Implementation
After the basis to be choosen we need to concentrate on market whether to compete in exixting or to move to new market
