Hi, I cannot figure how to calculate and treat the differences when the company has obligations for two years and to make records in the SPL and the Balance? The example is: On 01 Jan. 20×2, an entity granted 5,000 options to an employee vesting two year later on 31.Dec.20X3.The fair value of each option measured at grant date was 3. The laws in Jurisdiction in which the entity operates allows a tax deduction of the intrinsic value of the option on exercise. The intrinsic value of the share options was 1.20 at the 31.Dec.20X2 and 3.40 at 31.Dec.20X3 on which date the options were exercised. Tax rate is 30%.
Required: Show the deferred tax accounting treatment of the above transaction at 31.Dec.20X2, 31.Dec.20X3 (before exercise), and on exercise.
