i find it in several suggested answers, for difficult issues, that seek legal opinion- wont this be in breach of the professional duty of confidentiality….i mean the lawyer would want to know the details..
Is there any better alternative for an auditor?
Could we contact acca?You certainly could contact the ACCA who, I believe, have a legal department.
However, you should be aware that any conversation between a lawyer and his / her client is also subject to confidentiality arrangements so there should not be a problem arising from such a discussion.
On some occasions you would identify to the client that you intended consulting – maybe to get an independent assessment of some contentious matter.
On others, you wouldn’t – for example, whether to blow the whistle on your client’s activities which you suspect are fraudulent

yes i have read of the exeption from confidentiality rules if the client gives you permission.
