In the table comparing Management Account and Financial Accounting only the headers appear.

That is exactly as is intended!!!

As it says in the notes, there is no point in using the notes without watching the lectures that go with them. In the lecture on this chapter I fill in the table and explain.

The notes are lecture notes, and it is in the lectures that I expand on and explain the notes. If you are not watching the lectures for any reason then you must buy a Study Text from one of the ACCA approved publishers and study from there.

It doesn’t actually say that in the notes. A simple note to say please complete this table in conjunction with the lecture video would make it explicit. It does say it however within the lecture itself. There are certainly suggestions that you should use the notes with the lecture however I follow an approach to learning which is grounded the science which would have a study process that looked more like this:

    1) Read the lecture notes
    2) Read test questions
    3) Get into the detail by watching the lectures
    4) Review (tests and simply trying to explain to yourself what you learned in the last section)

The first two steps are important because they help prime your mind for material you are about to learn. It matters not if you understand the notes or the questions only that it gives your mind a context for the material you are about to learn.

That’s how I approached this. I get that this approach isn’t wholly supported given how you’ve explained the way we are expected to progress through the material and the move to MCQ makes the ability to learn this way further compromised however you have a wonderful resource nonetheless.

    Thanks for your efforts.

It explicitly says on the cover of the notes to download the notes and then to watch the free lectures.

In addition the link from which they are downloaded refers to them as lecture notes and says “To fully benefit from these notes you should watch our free MA lectures”

They are lecture notes, and lecture notes are to be used with the lectures.
