    Hi Mr Kim

    Thank you for your lectures

Can you please tell me the difference between POPIT and Kaleidoscope model?
and when do we use POPIT and when do we use kaleidoscope.

    Thanks,

POPIT is simply a checklist of things to consider during organisational change: people, organisation etc and you should ensure that the elements all tie up eg that your people will be capable of dealing with the IT.

The Kaleidescope model looks at a list of variables (contextual features) and says that these will affect the way the changes will be carried out. So if the change is urgent, you would be more dictatorial as you don’t have time for lots of discussion and participation.

So the models look at very different things: what you need to change (POPIT) and how you might best do the change (KM).

Which you use depends entirely on the question set and the information provided – in fact in some questions you might want to use elements of both.
