And talking particularly about your case, from you have mentioned, you have 1 month and about 2 weeks till your exams.
Preparing for just 1 one paper in this time period is in itself a challenge(since you will start from scratch), can’t even imagine what it will be like preparing for 2 papers?
This becomes next to impossible if someone is working in a full-time job.So to cut it short, even if you want to go ahead to give just “1” out of these papers you will be giving lesser than the recommended time (16 weeks)
Check that here
https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f5/studyguides/3626_PM_study_support_guide.pdfThat could be “somewhat” managed if you give “full day studying”.
But in these days you will need to make sure you (1) get all your concepts understood well and (2) practise rigorously…practise…practise…and practise.Considering the above decide whether you want to go with it or not.
Otherwise, I would personally advise you to start studying for the papers now and give the exam in March’19. Ample time to secure a good first time pass.
[Though will not recommend you giving F6 in March sittings since its the last sitting for that particular Finance Act. From June sitting onwards new Finance Act is introduced and there are significant changes in the rates and allowances. So, if you have any other paper remaining will advise you to choose that.]
And to answer this

Then use the resources provided on the ACCA website.
Technical articles, past papers, free CBE mocks of Kaplan and BPP and use the workspace for the constructive response questions.Hope this helps.
October 18, 2018 at 7:04 pm #479126Hey, Hope youre doing well.
I gave PM and TX in september together, It was really really tough managing both, And I started to prepare for both in MAY. I had 4 months of time, and still both were challenging. Each paper in its own way has a way to complicate things the more you go into them, so that is really hard to keep up with. Like the Moderator said, Go for only 1 paper. It is better to have more of a chance of passing one, rather than risking it and not going through on either one.
All the best in whichever choice you make, But make sure you can give enough time to practise each and every question in the kits for both papers, that is crucial to have a good sitting

Please advice
October 22, 2018 at 10:17 pm #479505Well that would depend upon how much time you can give. Both PM and TX are pretty much similar in terms of difficulty. But, if you look at it one by one, PM is bit more complicated because of the formulae and the calculation, But TX has more to learn and remember, the rules and dates to be precise. So I would say go for whichever you feel comfortable with or whichever you have already started. There is no wrong choice at this point.
Good luck for your exam.

Both are technical papers and involves calculation; so good amount of practise is the key.
With TX having a lot of tax rules, allowances and dates to learn, remember and apply. If you are comfortable with them and practised well, it is a ‘somewhat’ straightforward paper.
While PM also being a technical paper, is “more” on the analysis side. Your F2 (MA) concepts need to be really good because PM carries forward the knowledge you gained in MA (F2). If you know how to put forward a good analysis and are NOT stating the plain obvious then tackling this subject won’t be much of a problem. But again, you have have to do great amount of practise here as well.
If you see the syllabus and study guides, TX has a “wider” syllabus area as compared to PM. You can see this if you want to make a choice on the basis that which one has lesser topics to study as compared the other.
But remember, the recommended preparation time for both,PM and TX are 16 weeks (same).
So, honestly can’t give you a definite answer here, because different people will find different things difficult.
I personally found PM easier to prepare as compared to TX ( TX was a complete struggle for me!). However, this might not be the case for someone else.
And also, the time frame of preparation you have mentioned is in itself a huge challenge.
I wish you all the best for your choice.
Hope this helps.
