    Hi Ansi,

    Was late in these sessions but attended today’s one – relevant cost. so helpful. I failed to open previous discussions from session 2-5. Session 1 is fine.

    Can you please upload again… or please let me know whether these can be sent to my email address.

    thanks

    @asb006,

    Thank you for your interest. Yes, i saw you in the session 🙂

    Chat history of this session will be uploaded below.
    As for previous chat histories, of course i can send it to you by e-mail.
    But firstly i would like to try opening them again.

    Everyone always complain on this problem, while the solution is easy.

    In internet explorer u can open those files without any difficulties. In firefox and probably some other browsers, you don’t need to left click your mouse.
    Right click it instead , and choose either open in new tab or “save as”.
    It should help.

    However, if the problem persists, please let me know.

    i checked all files now in firefox , all of the links work fine.

    Check sessions schedule in F5 forum (separate topic). And will be happy to see you next time 🙂

    regards,
    ansi

    Hi. I have been reading the chat session on Pricing Decisions. I have a query about question 3; I don’t understand how the equation 50-2(1/100)q=20 is worked out. Can someone help me please?

    @amin1988,

    Thank you for your interest and welcome to F5 sessions 🙂

    Well, we’ve gone a bit far already so it will be hard for you to catch up . However if you are a quick learner and ready to study hard, then you can join us .
    Next F5 session will be held on Wednesday 16th Feb at 6:30 pm.
    Topic : make or buy and other short term decisions.

    If you feel we’ve gone too far, then you can study on your own.

    F5 syllabus is very well structured, so topics are quite independant.
    Download F5 study guide + syllabus at official ACCA website and follow it topic by topic, using OT video lectures and notes and bpp or kaplan.
    Kaplan explains topic more briefly , but BPP is very well structured and serves aes a good addition for OT notes.

    If at any time during your studies , you will have questions , feel free to post them at the forum and i’m sure they won’t stay without reply 🙂

    good luck with your studies!
    ansi

    @priteshga
    Hello dear:
    I’m assuming you understand everything except where Cuteangel says q = 1500.
    Solving the equation 50-2(1/100)q=20 to find the value of q we proceed as follows:

    Step1: Calculate the figures in the brackets i.e. 1/100 = 0.01
    => 50 – 2(0.01)q = 20

    Step 2: Multiply figure in bracket by figure and unknown outside i.e 2 x 0.01x q
    => 50 – 0.02q = 20

    Step 3: Subtract 50 from both sides of equation
    => (50 – 50) -0.02q = 20 – 50
    => -0.02q = -30

    Step 4: Divide both sides of equation by -0.02
    => -0.02q/-0.02 = -30/-0.02
    => q = 1,500

    😀 Hope that explains it.

    I’m not sure what question you are referring to. Is this a question in one of the chats? if so please say which session and reference the line in the session by the time stamp at the start of the line.

    @luck2009
    The example is fully explained in the accompanying video found at https://opentuition.com/acca/f5/podcasts_chapter_1_activity_based_costing_part_1/

    That part in particular is explained form about 18 minutes 50 seconds into the video.

    You’re calculating Total machine hours so you have to multiply the units for each product by the machine hours per unit for each product 🙂 The video explains it beautifully 😀
