Hi
In need to prepare a cash budget for August, September and October 2018. I do not fully understand the principles, would it be possible to assist:
Herewith the following information:1. The business is expected to be financed as follows:
1.1 Cash provided by investors on 1 August 2018, R600 000
1.2 A long-term loan from the bank on 1 August 2018 , R300 000. Interest at a rate of 15% per year is payable monthly commencing 31 August 2018. 15% of the loan is payable on 31 October 2018.
2. Machinery and Equipment will be purchased on 2 August 2018 for R500 000 Cash
3. Production will commence on 4 August 2018 and 70% of September’s sales will be manufactured during August. Each month thereafter the production will consist of 70% of the current month’s sales and 30% of the following month’s sales.
4. Estimated sales at R45 per unit are:Units
August 0
September 7200
October 9000
November 12000Cash sales are expected to comprise 60% of the total sales. A 10% discount will be granted to these customers. The balance of the sales will be on credit and customers are expected to pay one month after the sale.
5. Variable production cost per unit are expected to be as follows:
Direct materials R14
Direct Labour R8
Variable Overheads R46. Direct materials will be purchased for cash for the production requirements of each
month.
7. Direct workers will have their salaries paid on the last working day of each month
8. Variable production overheads will be paid for in the month after they are incurred.
9. Fixed overheads are estimated at R12 000 per month and are payable in the month in
which they are incurred.
10. Marketing costs are expected to total R75000 for August 2018. Thereafter marketing
costs are paid one month after they are incurred.Hope to hear from you soonest and thank you in advance for your assistance
