Hello
This quest asks about the information requirements regarding customer returns. In the scenario it specifically mentions that customers are not satisfied with the “manufacturing quality”.
I don’t understand why the answer states that the defects may be from problems outside of manufacturing.
Based on my understanding of the scenario there are two divisions 1. Manufacturing 2.retail.
It seems to me that the answer was based on “answering someone’s own question” as opposed to what was provided in the scenario. Kindly explain the thought process for this answer.

You are talking rubbish. The question lists 5 reasons given by customers for returning goods and some of these paravraphs contain multiple causes such as:
3 Goods were not as described or were defective [presumably the fault of marketing or manufacturing]
4 Goods were of poor quality or no longer wanted [presumably the fault of manufacturing or fickle customers]
