market conditions x ? 2/3 (x + y)
rearranging 3x ? 2x + 2y
or x ? 2y (3)
also x, y ? 0
those question marks above are great and equal to signs.
Sorry my algebra is weak ,can you please tell me how he arranged that market condition equation ?Taking the first equation (x > 2/3(x + y) )
If you mutliply both sides by 3, you get
3x > 2(x + y)
Therefore 3x > 2x + 2y
Subtracting 2 x from both sides gives:
x > 2y
