Hello Mike, please I would love to know the difference between f4 English and global. Am a bit confused. Don’t know which to take. I’m not British though, am Nigerian. Need your clarification and advice. Thank you.

If there is even the smallest chance that you would wish in the future to emigrate to the UK and practice as an accountant / auditor, then you have no choice … it’s English version for you
If you harbour no such ambition to practice in the UK, then it’s a matter of personal preference
The Global variant looks in substantially greater depth at international commercial law (United Nation Conventions on International Trade, UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, International Chamber of Commerce Rules covering the transportation of and payment for goods)
The English variant looks in substantially greater depth into the law of obligations (contract law) and only very superficially considers the international aspects
Much of the syllabus and lectures are common to both variants … the law relating to the creation, management and administration of business organisations is the same for both variants
Neither variant is easier than the other – they are of equal difficulty
As a matter of personal preference, I find the English variant more interesting but that’s probably a result of having taught that variant for in excess of 40 years (less than 10 years for the Global variant)
It could well be the case that, were you to look at both variants, you may find the Global option to be preferable – and that’s the beauty of being human! We don’t necessarily all enjoy the same things 🙂
Whichever option you select, the material that is on this site is quite comprehensive and should give you a solid base from which to get stuck into a revision kit / exam kit from one of the approved publishers (20% discount is available on the purchase of BPP books if you place your order through OpenTuition)
Read the notes, watch the videos, read the technical articles but, most important of all, practice, practice, practice for endless hours the mcqs and mtqs from a revision kit
Hint! Don’t write your answer attempts in the revision kit itself! That way, subsequent efforts at the same questions will not be influenced by your earlier guesses
And, of course, I’m here if you have any questions
Hope that helps
