Hi
at the end of struggle with ACCA i have decided to give up on it finally. Just wondering is it possible to convert my qualification to any other Accounting body before it gets expired. It hurts that i could not clear that one paper in this long journey. My all friend did eventually. I am depressed and very much low. Please please refer me which accounting body i can convert to at least minimal cost (btw i was just one paper away to finish). Please dont ask me to sit for it again and again and destroy my self confidence. God was not there for me. I am from bangadesh. Please advice…..July 17, 2018 at 3:07 pm #463495I am not aware of any qualifications that you could transfer to that would not involve additional exams to achieve a qualified status. Also, other professional accountancy qualifications are likely to come at a greater cost.
You do not say which paper you have given up on – but if it was an option paper – is there not another option paper you could try?July 18, 2018 at 3:14 am #463599Hi Sabrina,
Look i don’t know you… Neither you know me… But as students we can relate to each other.
In a student’s life there are many moments where one can say, ” I give up!” but one should NOT!So dont give up! Please! As you said ‘in this long journey’…So turn back and remember in this long journey of yours… How much time you have invested… How much hardwork you have invested… How much money you and your parents have invested…You didn’t come this far that easily! Remember the sacrifices you and your family might have made for you establishing a successful career! Can you bring all that back?
& please Get your friends outta ur head! Don’t pressurised yourself!
God is with you! Then how did you complete the rest of 13 papers?
You have just 1 paper left don’t give up! God helped you to come this far!
As @kim2311 said if it was an option paper then try another option.
And how much time do you have till your qualification expires? And have you done the PER?
Please Do tell so that you can be advised on a better note and sort this issue.July 18, 2018 at 8:10 am #463684As above,I believe you should carry on with the qualification.P level passes last for seven years so you could potentially have that amount of time to complete your remaining paper. Its hard to lose sight of when you are struggling with a paper but you only have to pass the paper once (bearing in mind seven year rule). In my opinion you are more likely to regret giving up qualification than you are persevering with process.
July 18, 2018 at 2:50 pm #463731Dear All
Thank you for your comments. It hurts too much that i dont have much options open for me.All those years i tried every single possible way to pass,I have changed paper twice .Firstly i have done p5 for 10 sittings and then moved to P6 and sat 2 sittings. My expiration will be this dec and ACCA came up with new exam style. Still all of you are saying to try again.I know i can not do that anymore because every year its expensive. So please let me know if any option open for me anymoreJuly 19, 2018 at 6:34 pm #463967If you dont mind can you please tell how much was the highest you could score or how far/close were you from the 50%?
Cuz if the difference wasn’t much its worth a shot to try one last time in September…
The standard entry closes on 30th july as far as i know… You still have time.
It might be worth it.July 19, 2018 at 10:07 pm #463978Or else, only if you want, why don’t you extend your time limit?
Contact ACCA ask them. But that if you want to do so.
