Is it necessary to read a study text that belongs to BPP,Kaplan, Becker, LSBF etc, or are the opentuition notes and videos enough to be able to grasp a proper understanding of P7?
Also, whats the best way for me to learn the IAS’s and IFRS’s, I find it very difficult to wrap my head around them and therefore also have no hope in the june 2018 attempt that I had given. Do the videos cover the standards as well?
Is it a bad idea to write SBR and P7 together?
June 13, 2018 at 6:11 pm #458664I don’t think it is necessary to read publishers’ texts. However, in addition to the OT notes and lectures it is very important to practise questions either from a revision kit or from the ACCA papers that are available on-line. Be aware, however, that ACCA does not update its answers when standards change.
The P7 videos do not cover the standards, but the SBR videos will.
I think that P7 and SBR together is fine. You will have to learn the standards for SBR and this will be very useful for P7/AAA.
I suggest you ask the SBR tutor about the best way to learn the ISAs and IFRSs. My own view is that doing questions is the way rather than reading standards cover to cover. Questions make you really think about calculations and disclosures; simply reading standards just makes me go to sleep! I should keep a copy of the standards by the bed as a cure for insomnia.
