Would it be correct substantive procedure for cash that compare cash balance with budget.
I’ve never heard of that test for cash. Cash can be volatile and might be some way from the budget figure. However, the real point is that there is a much better, almost foolproof way of verifying cash at the bank ie like get a certificate from the bank and carry out a bank reconciliation.
