what is the secret for passing F4 exams, what do makers go for?
October 31, 2010 at 10:16 pm #69800look at the marking schemes! A good / thorough understanding will get you 8 to 10 marks – probably with relevant cases or examples. The published marking schemes indicate what you have to do to score the rest.
November 9, 2010 at 6:22 am #69801Am currently in full employment and the dept am in is really demanding that mostly l work late.Looking at the remaining days ,kindly help me an effective plan to tackle F4 in Dec 2010
regards
November 9, 2010 at 6:27 am #69802Get stuck into the revision kit questions. Read the answers over and over again. After a week or so ( you have less than 4 left! ) you should be in a confident enough frame of mind to start trying some questions on your own without looking at the answer first. spend 5 minutes planning 10 points that you could put into an answer, and keep doing that, as often as you can before the exam
November 9, 2010 at 11:42 am #69803IT IS NOT TOO LATE YET, GET THE LATEST REVISION KIT, GO THROUGH THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AND READ AND READ AND READ. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ THE CASES GIVEN IN THE SOLUTIONS , LOOK THEM UP FROM THE TEXT. CONTINUE FOR THE REMAINING WEEKS AND YOU ARE DEFINITELY ASSURED OF A 50% +. TIPS ALSO COME IN USEFULL.

Is there anyone with the online F4 Revision Kit? Can you please email it to me. It is so tough to work hard and raise funds for the studies and still have a fresh mind to study.

November 23, 2010 at 9:32 pm #69808Plan what you are going to write. Spend 5 minutes thinking, trying to arrive at 10 different markable relevant separate points.
then spend NO MORE than 13 minutes writing out properly what you have planned.
Hopefully this time you’ll enjoy a better result

Hello Mikelitle
This is my forth time i am going to sit the F4 exam, i was failed last 3 attempts with just 3 to 4 marks me last time i got 49 before it i got 47, kindly guide what i have to do,
thank you waiting for your reply
February 14, 2011 at 1:34 pm #69810It seems to me that you are not writing enough points down. You may know 4 points really well and write for maybe a page on each of those four points. But four points is only four marks! Make your point and move on. No more than 2 / 3 lines for each markable point – and aim to get ten valid, relevant, markable points for each question.
It seems that you are lacking exam technique! Check out the OT exam technique notes for both “General” and for F4 in particular
March 8, 2011 at 3:30 pm #69811ah i have recently started f4(ENG)…… which study manual should i follow…..and exactly should be my study system.??

i’m finding it difficult to remember case names and which precedents they fall in. I can remember the basic details. Are there any tips for remembering/matching the cases with the ‘law precedents’. And do you get marked down for not quoting many cases in the exam?
thank you
June 1, 2011 at 2:57 pm #69813Please let me refer you to the “Examination Technique” article on both F4 and General.
If you still have a question, post again
May 2, 2012 at 12:13 pm #69814Can we pass f4 in one month preparation?
May 2, 2012 at 4:06 pm #69815yes, but your chances will be improved if you spent one month and one day. They would improve again if you spent one month and 2 days, and gues what would happen if you spent one month and three days! Yes, you’re correct – your chances would be better than if you had spent only one month and two days.
The American golfer who won a tournament, when interviewed after winning, was asked if he put his success down to luck. His response was “Yes, but you know it’s a funny thing! The more I practice, the luckier I become”
It’s the same with exam preparation.
Good luck
