Have done lots of mock exams .

    In f7 & f8, I keep on getting the mod 40s mark.

F7. I miss marks on the MCQ

    EPS
    INTANGIBLE ASSETS

    The main weak points.

F8 – My audit risks are ok, but the audit response I cannot seem to get the full mark.

Any tips or comments would be helpful.

F7: Are you missing marks because you are not reading the Q or options carefully enough? And/or selecting “penultimate” answers because you haven’t quite finished a calculation before selecting the answer? Consider covering up all options (i.e. treat items as “fill in the blank”) when practicing.

F8: You can find in any recent examiner’s report (e.g. https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/f8/examinersreports/f8-examreport-march-2018.pdf ) guidance on getting marks for “risk and response”.

Hello, I too am taking F7 and finding it difficult. This is a retake for me and missed out by a few marks last time, but I am now just going through as many questions as possible before the exam and working out where I am going wrong.

For F8 I always answered the questions in three parts. Firstly what was the risk, then why it was a risk and lastly what impact it has on the financial statements. This should help get you more marks.

Hope that helps and good luck.
