Hey all, I wanted some advice on how to pass the exam effectively. For the past few weeks I have been trying to study the whole of the textbook, but I have found I can’t retain much information because there seems to be so much of it (F4 and BPP textbook). I was wondering then if it would be possible to only cover what this year’s syllabus mentions, or is it possible for the examiner to set exam questions outside the syllabus (i.e. from any page of the textbook). Thank you.
October 5, 2010 at 2:56 pm #68193I’ve seen the BPP textbook for F4 and it goes into a hell of a lot of detail, which makes it confusing. It’s almost as if we’re studying to become lawyers!
I’d suggest to just cover the syllabus and to get a hold of a Kaplan/alternative study text to see which areas are focused on. Also look at the exam kit as you go to see what areas you’d be tested on.
I’m not sure if the examiner can set questions from outside the syllabus, but this does not sound logical/fair does it?
Good luck.
