Hi,
Which one is better for CIMA or should we buy both?
Thanks.
May 1, 2018 at 8:10 pm #449721Don’t buy both!
They are both fine, but Kaplan has the official CIMA contract.
You certainly need to buy a revision kit/question bank, but many students successfully use our free lectures and lecture notes instead of buying a study text.
September 10, 2018 at 6:53 pm #472546Hi there,
I have the Kaplan book including the revision kit. In chapter 7 the discounting and Investment Appraisal, i could not find the the PV table or Annuity Table in the work material. Thank goodness I found Opentuiton and could work from the tables provided in the lecture notes.
Just to confirm these tables will be available in the exams?
Also – as the exam is computer based, regarding calculations please let me know if i can access the online calculator to prep for the exam.

June 30, 2020 at 10:22 am #575420Hello Opentuition,
Thank you for the valuable contents you make available for free that I have only discovered them now almost at the end of my BA1 and BA2 studies from the textbooks.
However, I must say that the Kaplan textbooks are of an awful content quality. So much so I had to complain constantly with Kaplan advisors of many incorrect/incomplete exercise and of some very poorly written sections of the theory I found along the way which did not seem to have passed a rigorous scientific editor.
I am surprised I am not finding more posts of students complaining of the same issues with Kaplan textbooks.
Does anyone have an idea if BPP’s materials are of better quality?
Thanks
AfonsoJune 30, 2020 at 5:27 pm #575542Thanks for the information. We do not proof-read other companies’ material so I am sure students will find you comments interesting.
If BPP books are ordered through this site you will get a 20% discount.
April 22, 2021 at 2:14 pm #618519Can we only use the material available on open Tution, to do well in the exam?
April 22, 2021 at 6:13 pm #618543You need to buy a revision kit/question bank to provide you with enough question practice, but many students successfully use our free lectures and lecture notes instead of buying a study text.
Either Kaplan or BPP is fine but you get a 20% discount if you buy BPP books through this site.
