i’m new to P4 and exempted for Level 1 & Level 2 exam thus i don’t have basic for F9 & F2.
will it affect alot of things of P4 syllabus? Wat i should do?
I plan to take P5 as well for optional paper. Can anyone help me?June 21, 2010 at 10:19 am #64761As with all professional papers, P4 and P5 requires a good basics, viz. fundamental knowledge.
It’s like learning algebra; it’ll be easier if you’re good at adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc. Something like that, but at a higher scale for P4 and P5.
You can always catch up if you lack the basics, but be prepared to get confused many times and must have the determination to read a lot. P4 is fun though, it’s not a boring subject.

There are some things you will need to learn that will help you with P4. It will help you if you can lay your hands on F9 study text. If you can’t then you could just study your P4 text but they expect that you are familiar with some topics like cost of capital. But not to worry, most texts will still deal with those topics in P4 study text, only that there’s so much to learn.
Wish you the best my friend.

first of all dont be scared….you have alota time….. i gave my exam this june so i would say that the best way to prepare is to get the book by (the now replaced examiner), bob ryan- corporate finance and valuation and match it against the syllabus requirements….it covers both the levels…….
get a text book such as kaplan ( bpp was utter shit, though i cant say kaplan will be better) and keep it to help with any of the topics which are insufficient….they also have f9 informationbest of luck
