I looked for ages only to find it come up in a question after i’d given up looking!
Its about competences, JSW say they are the activities and processes through which an organisation deploys its resources effectively, core competences are the activities that give a competitive advantage, the reason we’re doing well.
Hamel and Prahalad suggest that your core competence must have three qualities…
– It must make a disproportionate contribution to the value the customer percieves
– It must be ‘competitively unique’; which can mean either… it actually is unique, its superior to competitors or its capable of drastic improvement
– It must be extendable, in that it must allow for the development of an array of new products or services.
Question reference was “Focus bank”
Hope that is in some way of help to you!
fingers crossed for tomorrow hey! :SJune 15, 2010 at 9:06 pm #64548thanks so much! good luck tomorrow!
