I have difficulty in interprating and explaining the theory part. Usually in theory part, for one mark how long should we write? One of my lecturers says that for one point of answers consists of 1/2 mark. Is it true? I know that I should refer to the answers of past year papers, but the answers are too long and too many relevant points. Sometimes I manage to find the points given but hard to interprete. Thank you for your help.
The marks do vary – there is no standard rule.
However it is usually 1 mark for 1 point.
So if the question has 5 marks you should be trying to make 5 points.
Help the marker – make each point on a separate line so that he does not miss any of them!

If he expecting 5 points for 5 marks, then if you only have 3 points you will only get 3 marks.

I always find myself stuck when answering theory part of questions.I find it hard to follow in the BPP book at time as the answers are too long. It doesn’t give me an idea how long I should be writing or how I should be structuring my answer. Can someone give me an idea,how to answer!!

Generally, if you are asked to describe or explain something, then usually one of two lines for each point is sufficient.
The only way you can structure your answer is by reading the question carefully and answering each point asked. For example if he asks you to list and explain three advantages of something, then make three separate points – state the advantage and explain what the advantage is, for each of the three.
A guide to the time you should be spending is from the marks for the section. It is 1.8 minutes per mark, so if the section is 10 marks you should be expecting to spend about 18 minutes.
