Apologies for opening another thread but you mentioned we dont need a study textbook.
Up to now i have only used notes and lectures on open tuition but with f7 the first 5 chapters there are no lectures and it says read the notes but there isnt really much information on the notes to explain things.
am i missing something here, i dont want to purchase a study book just for the first few chapters but i feel i will be missing some basic information for this paper.
i did f3 over 15 years ago when i started the acca. (i stopped studying for 13 years) so i cant rely on my f3 knowledge.

March 16, 2018 at 7:46 pm #442814No problem – it’s a quick exercise to go through the F3 notes and John’s lectures and it should all come flooding back
As for those first 5 chapters, there really isn’t a lot of meat in the topics covered and certainly those topics are most unlikely to be the subject of any extended questions in the F7 examination
What is hugely important is loads of practice with mcqs and mtqs
The major topics for the extended questions tend to be consolidations, preparation of the financial statements for a single company, cash flows and ratio analysis / interpretation of ratios
Quick revision of F3, follow the notes and lectures that are on the site and loads of revision kit practice and, of course, whenever you hit a problem that you’re not able to resolve, post again on this forum and I shall get back to you
OK?
