    Section A was really hard. So many MCQ and matching questions. I’m not sure that I chose all right variants , it’s too difficult (((

    It was a high low methods to find the variable and fixed cost elements

    V/C (235000 – 22000) / (14000 – 11000 units)
    V/C 5 p.u

    Tc= fc + vc
    235000= fc + (5 × 14000)
    235000 = fc + 70000
    Fc= 165000

    Therfore the semi variable for 12200 unit is
    165000 + (5×12200)
    165000 +61000
    Tc= 226000

    Ans B

    In Sections A & B, I found the CBE format (of which was now mandatory) of these questions to be 10x harder than the paper based I sat in December 2017. To give 8 possible tick boxes and asked to tick the 4 which are correct gives you a much less chance at scoring two marks statistically than it would have with a traditional A, B, C or D answered question.

    if i remember the figures correctly i think its
    $220000 for 11000 units and 235000 for 14000

    so high low method results to 15000/3000 = 5.

    so 220000 = a + 5 * 11000
    a= 165000

    so TC= 165000 + 5* 12200
    TC = 226000

    Section A flowed very well but Section B and C was really tricky, so many details and can easily loose marks.
    what did you guys get for minimum transfer price for question 32.

    I was thinking it is maybe 3+4+7= 14. i got 7 by 15-3-4-1=7.
    but external market is 13 so it cannot be this as 13 should be maximum.

    so is it maybe 4+3+1=8 ?

    Gutted
    It was a very difficult paper.Many questions were out of the box and were different than all past papers and revision kit questions. Those who had a Strong extra ordinary kind of preparation with pure strong concepts will be able to pass such a exam in the future.

    The paper was a disappointment, didnt expect it to be so tough with so much of calculations and understanding and yet so little time allocated.

    December 2017 paper was much easier though.

    Do you think examiners will mark the paper more leniently if it is tough?
