    Hi student 14,

Then start learning it and spend all available time on it. If you have any specific question, feel free to post it on the forum.

    Best wishes,

The more you read the more stuff will remain in your mind for exams. Also listen to OpenTuition F4 audio lectures they help a lot in memorising. If possible find a quite and alone place in your home and read aloud with concentration.

    thanx mohib!!!
another Q about the same paper is, which was asked by sm1 but nt yet answered n i wanna knw it as well, cz m finding difficulty myself…….

I will be giving my F4 paper (UK Stream) this June. All i want to know is How important are case laws really ??

I want to know whether if i attempt the Questions with cases in the Following Manner, will i be able to receive Equal marks ??

    1. Case Law with All the Details
    2. Case Law with Just the Name, No year, And a point to point fActs regarding the case.
    3. No Case from the Book specifically, I make up my own case; ABC Vs XYZ, but a case that is similar to the Question requirements and has the nessessary information.

I don’t think the examiners would have an Issue with the 3rd Option, because after all, they are here to give us a basic insight into Law… right ???

    Please Let me Know…
    thanx!!!

    Hi,

Azfar, all of the three options are valid. The third one is the best, what more could an examiner ask for? you know the concepts so well that you are able to make examples on your own 🙂
But for the record, i know ppl who didn’t state a single case yet managed to passed, not just passed but with good numbers. Examiner is smart, he would know whether the student know the subject or not, so if you are able to remember the case name etc nice, if you can’t just write in a reported case, and write the facts and decsion and if you are able to make up examples, that would be wonderful and even if you dont remember the cases and cant make up examples on your own, no woriies, you just answer all of the questions correctly, that’s all 🙂

Azfar – pay NO attention to People who say to make up a case name! NEVER make up a case name! If you can’t remember a name – put “in a decided case” If you can remember one of the names put “in the case concerning Nestle”. If you can’t remember either name do not make up a name nor put in your answer _______ v _______. That way, you are highlighting your lack of knowledge!
Ideally, you would know the case name in full, but let’s be realistic!
In addition, do not even try to remember the year of the case – totally irrelevant!
In the exam, state the principle of law and the ( in brackets ) state the case which you are quoting as authority. “Facts” of cases are almost always irrelevant. If you listen to the OT podcasts, most of the cases are “embellished” by questionable “facts”. The point of telling the story is to give you something memorable to help you learn the principle of law.
    Ok?
