RESOURCES USED – Open Tuition & LSBF resources

    EXAM TECHNIQUES:

    – Start with the last 2 (15 mark) questions. I went straight for the cashflow statement, then the MCQ.

    – I didn’t study for consolidation by the way and I also skipped it in the exam as I just wanted to pass F3. I still managed to get 73% (this is something which I do not advocate, but it worked for me and saved me a lot of time).

    – What I did was, I went through each MCQ and just answered the easy ones first. The hard ones I flagged and came back to it later. This way you build up momentum and feel good as you swift through the easy MCQ’s, decreasing your stress level which will allow you to think clearly when answering the flagged (harder) questions. After answering all the easy ones quite swiftly, I looked at the ones I flagged and it turns out there were only like 12 flagged. I looked at the time still 1hr something min to go to answer 12 questions! I looked out the window, day dreamt a bit and even drew t-accounts to answer these flagged questions.

    All the best!

    🙂

I really wouldn’t advocate this approach. I just sat F3 yesterday and BOTH of the section B questions were on consolidation, one on SOPL and one on SOFP. So if I hadn’t studied Consolidation, I would have really struggled with passing.

I still only got 72% overall as the paper was a pretty hard one!

mdalimulrazi: There is a specimen exam on the ACCA website, there is a practice exam on this website, and there are mock exams in your Revision Kit.
(To share soft copies of exams is illegal and against ACCA regulations because they are copyright.)
