Good morning Sir
What is the primary reason for maintaining an inventory count timetable?
1) To ensure obsolete inventory is identified on a timely basis
2) To ensure the warehouse staff are not stealing inventory
3) To ensure all areas are counted at least once a year
4) To ensure damaged inventory is identified on a timely basis
Under my thought, it seems like number 1 is appropriate but the answer is number 3.
In text books version for June 2017 exam sitting, there is no further explanation regarding the timetable about inventory
it’s because the text book is out-dated?
or
just it is the F8 subject feature that asking common or random thoughts about F8 is general?
my revision kit is recent one ,but the text book is not. would it be a problem?
December 23, 2017 at 10:38 am #424555It is referring to a cycle count timetable, and it would have been better if the question had made that explicit. There isn’t really a “timetable” for a year-end count, though the day would be specified.
2 is obviously wrong. A count time table will not prevent theft
1 and 4 are more or less the same and a cycle count will help there. However, the question asks for the primary reason and, to me, 3 seems the best reason.
Your text book is not out of date (inventory count procedures have not changes in a long time) but you sometimes have to think creatively to get to the best answer – or at any rate the one most likely to be right.
