I’ve been out of work now for a few years due to my mental health. I’m not quite ready to go back to work yet but I’m certainly ready to start studying from home, while I continue to improve my health.
Due to being out of work I find my budget is quite limited, I have a choice of either:
Registering with ACCA/paying first years membership and using free study material for the first month while I save up the £300 to buy F1-F3 from Kaplan.
OR
Purchase F1-F3 with Kaplan and study for a month while I save to register/pay first years membership.Which would be most beneficial to buy first? I’ll be doing distance learning with Kaplan.
December 21, 2017 at 6:06 am #424243You are on this site hence you have already completed the objective of saving several costs!
You will find here free lectures, free notes and Ask the Tutor forums where tutors answer your queries. All these resources are available for all the papers of ACCA except for P6 (Advanced Taxation)
The only thing that you have to buy is a revision kit from an approved publisher (Kaplan or BPP). I personally prefer BPP due to their way of comprehensive explanation.
Make full use of this site, and you will not only save costs but you will find yourself grasping the syllabus in a systematic way.
All the best!
December 21, 2017 at 11:00 am #424297Well I wouldn’t register as a student now as I think if you wait ’til January you will only have to pay the initial registration fee and won’t have to pay the annual subs til the end of 2018, whereas if you join now you’ll have to pay both now. Not 100% sure on this though.
If you’re tight for cash then there’s no need to purchase all the study texts. As rafayazhar said all you really need to buy is the exam kits, these will cost you a total of £60 from Kaplan for the 3 exams (not sure of BPP prices). You can get by using the free resources from this site for the first 3 exams for sure.
