receipts in the second 6 months of the year ended 30 September, 2016 rose from 13,935 to 14,050 and that’s an increase of 0.825% (examiner has rounded to 0.8%)

The answer states “yet in each consequent (subsequent?) six-month period management predicts a significant rise in receipts of between 1·7% and 3·0%.”

The crucial words here are “between 1·7% and 3·0%”

The examiner is giving us a range of percentage increases for each subsequent (consequent????) 6 months period starting from the second half of the accounting year ended 30 September, 2016

Let me list those figures out for you:

    14,050 rises to 14,300 … an increase of 1.779% ((14,300 – 14,050) / 14,050)

    14,300 rises to 14,700 … an increase of 2.797%

    14,700 rises to 14,950 … an increase of 1.701%

    14,950 rises to 15,400 … an increase of 3.010%

Each successive 6 month period is showing an increase and the percentage increase lies within the range 1.701% – 3.010% or, in the examiner’s rounded figures, within the range 1.7% – 3.0%

    OK?
