November 10, 2017 at 12:38 pm #415096I dont understand how they are calculating the bonus and how they are distributing the bonus…
November 10, 2017 at 6:26 pm #415149There are no specific rules about how bonuses are calculated, and this question is a case of simply following the instructions given in the question.
There are three targets given in the question. So each quarter you have to check which of the three targets have been achieved. Then you add up the number of times they have been achieved, and multiply by $400 – that gives you the total bonus.
(How the bonus is distributed to the manager is not asked for and is irrelevant). The examiners answer details for each target for each quarter whether or not it has been achieved. If you are not clear about any of the workings for each of them, then say which and I will explain.

Qtr 30 sept 2009 yes
Qtr 31dec 2009 yes
Qtr 31 march 2010 no
I didnt get the point how they are comparing wheather who is eligible for the bonus ? 400November 11, 2017 at 9:55 am #415228The only person who gets the bonus is the manager. He/she gets it for every target reached in each of the quarters.
One of the targets (2nd workings) is “60% of the members must visit the club at least 12 times a quarter”.
In quarter 1 there are 3,000 members. 60% of this is 1,800. To visit 12 times in the quarter would mean 12 x 1,800 = 21,600 visits. There were only actually 20,000 visits and so it seems the target was missed – so no bonus.
In quarter 2, there are 3,200 member. 60% of this is 1,920. To visit 12 times in the quarter would mean 12 x 1,920 = 23,040 visits. Since the actually number of visits is higher than this, it would seem that they have achieved the target – so yes to bonus. The same workings have been used for each of the following two quarters.
I hope that helps 🙂
