Hello Ken,
Is it the correct way to set out the project scope only after you have decided on the project’s objectives? This will mean the objective will determine the scope of the project.
The June 2015 question 3’s answer doesn’t seem to agree with this. It says:
“Only once the scope of the revised project been agreed can revised project objectives be agreed and a new project plan developed, allocating the resources available to the project to the tasks required to complete the project.”Hoping you could help me on this, thank you 🙂
They are close in meaning. However, scope concentrates on what the project should accomplish, what it will deliver. For example, fewer inventory stockouts, lower stock levels, reports of slow moving stock items, item profitability.
For objectives, think smart: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-limited. So, you would set targets for the drop in stockouts, state a time by which the improvements ahould be achieved etc.
