1.Do we have to refer to any models in our answers when the question doesnt explicitly asks to refer ?for eg consider this question Shoal plc 12/10
In the above qs ,the first requirement answers state about BCG matrix and pestel analysis(this is found out frm the ans key)
2.Now my question is do we lose marks for not refering them?
3.if our answer contains enough points that meets the requirements of the question arent we likely to score marks without even refering to the related models?
August 29, 2017 at 4:30 pm #404092It is always better to use a model where possible otherwise it just becomes an exam in common sense. Models give your answer credibility.
More marks are available for using an appropriate model.
August 30, 2017 at 7:28 am #404237Sir,
Sorry for not asking the question in a different forum. But my question is related to the Shoal PLC 12/10.
Sir i wanted to ask which is the model used in the suggested answer of the part b(ii). The suggested answer uses the model of JSW’s Turnaround strategy.Sir i somehow cannot find this strategy in either the book or notes. It will be very kind of you sir, if you can help me out.August 30, 2017 at 11:09 am #404341Investopedia says:
“A turnaround is the financial recovery of a company that has been performing poorly for an extended time. To effect a turnaround, a company must acknowledge and identify its problems, consider changes in management, and develop and implement a problem-solving strategy. In some cases, the best strategy may be to cut losses by liquidating the company rather than trying to turn it around.”
There is nothing very fancy about the concept: things have been going badly, how do we change that. There is no answer that suits all situations.
