Hi.
Please is the rate band only increased by personal pension contributions? Or it can also be increased by occupational pension contribution?The basic and higher rate band limits will ONLY be extended by the gross amount of the personal pension contributions. Occupational pension contributions have already been deducted in deriving the employment income and thus the taxable income, and therefore ensures that the taxpayer benefits from the relevant basic, higher or additional rates within the income tax computation.
