Hi guys
I finished 11 papers around 6 years ago, failed couple of time and left it . It bugged my all these years now i have decided to give it another go.
I never worked in accounts or finance, so my current knowledge is probably of a level 1 student. As P1 and P3 will expire next year (7yr rule). this will be my last chance at it.
I am free till Sep, dedicating full time to study from today.
Advise please:
1. Which paper I should go for this sep? P2 only or p2 or p6? or any other option paper goes well together?
2. Opentutition, Kaplan, Bpp etc, where do you start? whats the best way to tackle this paper p2? i am thinking of going through notes here in opentuition and buying kaplan kit? could this suffice or should buy the video lecturers?
Any advise will be appreciated
July 23, 2017 at 5:40 pm #398253You only have less than one and a half month. I don’t think you should go with 2 papers because all P papers have broad syllabus.
If you really want to do 2 papers at the same time, i would PROBABLY suggest to try P2 & P7. My understanding is that around 20% to 25% of a P7 paper is about accounting standards which you would be studying for P2, but not as in depth as P2.
July 23, 2017 at 5:57 pm #398257Thanks for your reply.you are absolutely right, i should i only do one exam. I have downloaded the open tuition notes, i must say, its a great place and what wonderful work they do.
watchinf the youtube paul barker videos. One question after the videos, is there any kit recommended? kaplan bpp or anyother one? which one to choose.
Notes – videos – Kit – Past Questions. (To pass, this is the way right?)
thanks
July 24, 2017 at 2:41 am #398285As far as i am aware, kit and past questions are the same (i.e. most questions in the kit are from past papers, with more detailed answers and guide). I only used kaplan’s kit when i studied P2. I think you can use a kit published by any of the ACCA approved learning partners.
You may also study by topics (to read notes & videos & past questions).
Also practise lots of consolidation questions which worth 30 to 35 marks in every sitting (until Jun 2018).
