    Hey Mike, I got this question from the mock test here and was wondering if I made a mistake with this.
    Here’s the question ;

    In the situation where the court establishes that a plantiff has contributed by their own actions to the damage that they have suffered, it is possible for the court to reduce the extent of the award of damages by 100 percent.

    My answer was True but the answer given was False. As far as i know, contributory negligence can reduce the extent of damages by 100 percent.

    This is an extract from Wikipedia on the subject (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contributory_negligence)

    “In England and Wales, it is not possible to defeat a claim under contributory negligence and therefore completely deny the victim compensation. It does however allow for a reduction in damages recoverable to the extent that the court sees fit”

    OK?
