I would like to know what is bureaux and software houses and how they relate ICT and audit?
Computer bureaux are businesses that are established to use the power of computing to other businesses that have, to date, not felt it necessary to have their own in-house computing facility
It’s (probably) the case that the large majority of medium sized businesses now do have their own in-house facility so the life-expectancy of the animal that is a computer bureau is (probably) becoming increasingly short
Software houses are businesses that offer for sale custom-made software. This may be by mass production (micro-soft) or may be at the other end of the scale where individual entities engage the services of a software house to write bespoke programs specifically for that individual entity
OK?
