I have been giving p4 and failed 6 times. My marks are usually between 47 to 49 but in last two attempt of sept and december 2016 i failed by 49 marks. in sept 2016 i attempted 98% of paper and in december 2016 i attempted 80% in which i answerd Q1 completely…
As someone told me, the examiner failed students at 49 marks because they made a fundamental mistake.. is that true ? Also what are the fundamental mistakes?
Also guide me what should I do to clear this paper. As i have far enough knowledge about this paper and do not want to change and start different paper from start. I scored 61 marks in p7 but somehow i am not able to clear this paper.. my affiliation has been stoped because of this one paper, i easily cleared all my 13 papers but stuck in this.
March 20, 2017 at 8:03 am #378768What happens if you are marked close to 50 is that the examiner himself reviews the paper and decides whether he feels that overall you understand and deserve to pass or not, and will adjust your mark accordingly. So it is not really a question of specific fundamental mistakes.
It is obviously impossible for me to know what is going wrong because I cannot see your answers. Are you setting out your workings in a way that is easy for the marker to follow? Is your writing easy to read in the written parts of questions? Are you making sure you get the professional marks in question 1?
Otherwise there is not really anything I can suggest other than (obviously) practicing every question in your Revision Kit and learning from your mistakes. If you have already worked every question in your Revision Kit, then consider buying one from a different approved publisher so that you will have different questions to attempt.Given that you keep being so close to passing, it might be worthwhile searching for a tuition firm on the internet who will mark practice exams for you – then they will be able to tell you where it is you are losing marks. I am afraid that we are not able to provide that service for you.
