Dear Tutor,
I’m preparing P3 for March 2017 exam setting. After P3 I have 2 exams remaining, P2 and P5, My plan was to start P2 as I have the books which are valid until June 2017,and prepare P5 for December 2017. However, I reviewed the P5 syllabus and listened to your video introduction to P5 and understand that it follows on nicely from P3 and develops and applies the models in the P3 syllabus which are fresh in my mind now. Would it be an advantage to change my plan and study P5 before P2? I originally planned to get P2 out of the way because I understood that the exam is changing soon but maybe I have interpreted that incorrectly.
I expect both P2 and P5 exams to be difficult and will require time and practice. I prepared for P4 immediately after F9 which I passed but found it a difficult exam. I am very happy it is over and am pleased that I made the decision to do it after F9. I have limited study time, full time work and young children so I really need to plan the most efficient way.
What is your opinion / advice?
Thank you for your support.
RoisinMarch 3, 2017 at 6:50 pm #375347Both P3 and P2 change after June 2018, but I think P3 will change more radically as P1 disappears and the new ‘P3’, called the ‘Strategic Business Leader’ exam will be a kind of combination of P1 and P3.
Given that you have the P2 books, I suggest you get that exam out of the way. You will find the P3 knowledge comes back fairly easily for P5. In fact, it’s probably good to have a gap because although there is considerable syllabus overlap between P3 and P5 the questions are very different and some people mess up because they think P5 is just a resit of P3.
