Greetings Mike
Could we say that there’s advocacy threat to objectivity due to Raven promoting the software produced by them and their audit client, grouse to their existing audit client?
Unrelated qts, would it be against the exam technique if I number my points and not just separate them into paragraphs?
Thanks
February 22, 2017 at 6:52 am #373592What additional benefit is gained by numbering your paragraphs? Why do you want to? Why not simply leave a line between your sentences?
I have to say that I’m struggling to see where ‘advocacy’ fits into this
Here’s some of what Wikipedia has to say about advocacy:
“Advocacy in all its forms seeks to ensure that people, particularly those who are most vulnerable in society, are able to:
Have their voice heard on issues that are important to them
Defend and safeguard their rights
Have their views and wishes genuinely considered when decisions are being made about their livesAdvocacy is a process of supporting and enabling people to:
Express their views and concerns
Access information and services
Defend and promote their rights and responsibilities
Explore choices and options”Do you see the Raven / Grouse situation falling into any of those categories?
It strikes me that advocacy arises where the auditor is giving advice to the client in relation to some external matter in which the client is involved
OK?
