Sir
i have understood what is being done to get the receipts and the payments and my understanding is:
we are adding up payments/receipts outside the group. so, if any member of the group owes anything outside the group, that is a payment and if anyone outside the grp owes, then that is a receipt.
I get this.
but what i dont get is where in the question do we find out what receipts/payments we are supposed to consider. nowhere does it specifically say that we are supposed to consider only the payments/receipts outside the group.
can you point out where in the question we shd look for such a hint? i think understanding what needed to be done was the main issue which made this question difficult.
kindly dont close this thread as i might have a followup.
regardsFebruary 16, 2017 at 4:27 pm #372750Part (b) asks you to work from the perspective of the group treasurer and to devise a strategy for the group (which follows on directly from part (a) – centralised treasury management is dealing with external receipts and payments from the group as though it is one big company rather than have each separate company have the foreign exchange risk separately).
I am going to close the thread because I have answered your question. If you have more questions then I will surely answer, but ask in a new thread.
