Hi Ken
My lecturer said that when the question asks for SWOT analysis (like in question Relnk Co from Jun’14) we could use 9M’s, Culture analysis, financial analysis – for internal strengths and weaknesses; and PESTEL, Porter’s 5 forces, Industry Life cycle – for analysis of external opportunities and threats.
Can you please confirm?
SWOT can be regarded as a summary of all findings.
So, the 9Ms will help you to identify weak and strong resources; PESTEL will show the external threats and opportunities.
If asked to do SWOT, then DO NOT go through the other models formally – you won’t have time, but you can use then internally as checklists to help you come up with ideas.
I see, thank you 🙂
