Hey Mike, hope you are doing well. I’m currently preparing for my f7 exam. I was very weak in paper F3 (managed to passed with 50 marks). To pass the f7 exam do I have to revise some of the f3 topics, (such as consolidation, depreciation, balance sheet and income statement, etc) or are they covered in the opentuition lectures? Thank you, very much.

It would do you no harm at all to go through the F3 lectures again

All the topics that you mention are in the F7 syllabus and, to be totally up-front with you, it’s highly probable that at least 3 if not all 4 of those topics will be in the March 2017 exam as well as many of the “etc” topic

Preparation of a single entity’s financial statements is not covered in lectures but if you look in the “revision lectures” on this site you’ll find me working through a number of past exam questions

In addition, for some reason known only to you, you appear to have omitted 2 other major areas (unless they were included within “etc”) and they are interpretation of financial statements and statements of cash flow

Post again whenever you need guidance and get stuck into the notes, lecture videos and a revision kit no later than 10 January!
