    Hello,

I have a query related to the requirement in part (b) of the Nesta question. The question states that ‘Discuss the potential use of scenarios by NESTA’s managers as part of their analysis of NESTA’s possible entry into the discount fixed-price retail market in Eurobia.’

The BPP revision kit states that for the keyword ‘discuss’ one should examine by using arguments for and against. However, when I went through the answer it didn’t have any details that why the scenarios should and shouldnt be used by the NESTA managers. The answer only contains the definition of the scenarios (how it differs from forecasts), what factors should be considered in developing scenarios and finally the factors which the managers should consider while developing scenarios for NESTA.

Can you please tell me what was the examiner actually looking for?

    Thanks.

The BPP advice is generally correct with respect to the requirement to ‘discuss’. There are ideally several points of view, like discussing teams’ performance in a football match.

In this question I suppose you could try to explain the advantages (only a few viable outcomes examined) compared to the problems (identifying and developing the viable outcomes) and I think ACCA’s answer would have been better had that been done.

If you can’t discuss then at least describe.
