    Hi John,

I was wondering if you could help me out here please.

In the Kaplan Question Bank – Section B – Question 209 – BEFT CO.

In solutions, some how they got 0.5 hours of painting and contribution of 30 per painting hour.

I am not sure how and where it is coming from.

    Many Thanks

    Jitin

I am sorry, but I only have the BPP Revision Kit and without seeing the whole question I cannot really help.

(If it is a past real exam question then I can help, but in that case please also say which exam date it was.)

hi i think i might know the solution @malikjitin.

Mr Moffat im sorry im commenting here as i didnt know how to message for this problem in the acca forum, directly addressing the recipient.

this is just one off sorry.

    1. 0.5 hours of painting = 0.5 is the hours per limiting factor. in this question it is “painting labour” because this is limited .

therefore, to calculate the limiting hours for SQUARE
painting labour is $3 /$6= 0.5( this is cost per unit/labour rate per
    week)

2.$30 is contribution per limiting factor= you calculate the contribution for SQUARE as normal
    ie SP-Material-Labour-Variable overheads= contribution
    39-6-11-7=15

therefore contribution per limiting factor is $15/0.5 hours=$30.
