I graduated from university with exemptions and I have F7 to pass until I’ve got the whole foundation papers and I failed the exam at university that would have got me the F7 exemption. Revision from school, college and university would be going through knowledge that you have already learned and doing practice questions with knowledge similar to what was learned . However for ACCA exams it seems that the revision is more about learning new things that aren’t even in the study text! Therefore, does revision for ACCA also include learning new things as well? Sorry for my ignorance if I’ve misunderstood. Without question, these exams are much harder than university exams that even give exemptions for these modules. Thanks.
November 18, 2016 at 11:43 am #349791I didn’t word this very well! Of course some new things will be learned. What i meant was, will the revision sessions be about learning a lot of new things that aren’t even covered in the study text?
November 18, 2016 at 2:28 pm #349809My advice? Put your study text away in a dark room with a strong lock on the door … unless you need it to be able to reach a high shelf
Download a set of course notes (free on this site) and watch the video lectures whilst following in the notes
The video lectures do not cover the entire notes but are 90% of what you should need for the exam
Watch the revision lectures where I work through past examination questions
Practice endlessly – there is NEVER a situation when you have done enough of this – the mcqs and mtqs from a revision kit / exam kit from a reputable publisher
Then practice them endlessly again (if that’s not an oxymoron!)
Post any queries that you may have on this Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you
Get in touch with your mates from Uni that are preparing for their Uni exams and pass on the name and link to OpenTuition
Finally, write an article for your Uni student newsletter about the facilities that OpenTuition provide FREE for ALL accountancy students, anywhere in the World, and for which ever accountancy discipline they are preparing
And then do some more endless practicing of mcqs and mtqs from a revision kit / exam kit …
… and remember to post any questions on this page
OK?
