The sequence for the allocation of impairment losses is as follows:
1. To any assets that are obviously damaged or destroyed
2. Next, to the goodwill allocated to the cash generating unit
3. “Then to all other assets in the cash generating unit, on a pro rata basis”
Do “all other assets” in step 3 include intangible assets, such as patents etc?

They include all other assets! However, certainly at F7 level, the examiner has so far identified a recoverable amount specifically for the intangible (patent and licence so far) so the question has never yet arisen in the exam
